Licensed for 40 years, Terrie O’Connor founded her company in 1991 following a successful career in real estate sales, marketing and management. Terrie has worked extensively with transferees as well as marketing residential properties, land sales and new construction. Her dual exposure from both the development and marketing sides of a property has given her a broad perspective on real estate. When asked why she wanted to start her own brokerage, Terrie replied, “I want to work with people I truly enjoy each day.” True to her word, Terrie O’Connor Realtors now boasts over 420 agents and 40 full-time staff among eight office locations including Allendale, Kinnelon, Ramsey (the Main Street sales office and the Corporate Office/Real Estate School), Ridgewood, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River and Wyckoff. The company takes pride in providing hallmark service to both residential and commercial clients throughout New Jersey and southern New York counties.
Terrie loves real estate, and has no plans to stop any time soon. Terrie is in the office each day, working with her executive team to strategize the company’s growth and answering calls from her agents. Outside of the office, Terrie serves as a Board Member with the Holy Name Medical Center Foundation, the Council for Hospice at Villa Marie Claire, and Commerce and Industry of New Jersey. Terrie is currently a Trustee for Realtor Cares of Greater Bergen Realtors. She was the first woman to serve as President and Chairperson of the Builders Association of Northern New Jersey and is a former steering committee member of Habitat for Humanity’s “Women Raise the Roof” that built several homes in Paterson.
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Terrie has lived all around the world. As both the daughter and wife of US Naval Officers, Terrie has enjoyed life in Malta, Hawaii, and London. Entertaining is a favorite passion of hers, and she enjoys sharing her New Orleans roots by serving oysters, fried chicken, étouffée, red beans and rice, and spicy jambalaya.
Family has always been an important part of her life. A few years ago, she was able to purchase a historic Victorian home “down the shore” in Ocean Grove. The whole brood meets up there for long weekends at the beach filled with good food and fun in the sun. Since much of the gang has inherited musical talents, most evenings end with impromptu jam sessions and singing. Terrie has been taking virtual guitar lessons since the holidays so she can join in the fun.

Matthew O'Connor joined Terrie O'Connor Realtors in 2003, overseeing the operations and technology of the brokerage. Through his dedicated leadership, Terrie O'Connor Realtors has become the leading independent real estate brokerage in Northern New Jersey. Matt earned an electrical engineering degree at Auburn University and worked for a New Orleans based technology company for seven years following graduation. Matt's background in technology consulting, computer programming and business management have been a tremendous asset in growing Terrie O'Connor Realtors. His technology experience, engineering background and consulting experience have all been a significant force behind the growth and development of our firm, says Terrie. Matt has been a featured speaker at multiple industry conferences including RIS Media and Inman, and he currently serves as a member of the Real Trends Innovators Group, the LeadingRE Marketing Technology Advisory Council and the New Jersey MLS Board of Directors. Matt lives in Upper Saddle River with his wife Emma and their three boys: Raleigh (11); James (9); and Robert (7). When he is not at work, Matt is busy coaching his three active boys in soccer, baseball, and basketball. As a family, they enjoy gymnastics meets, youth sports leagues and snow skiing. Matt and Emma also enjoy game nights with friends and playing bridge. Matt is also an accomplished musician. He plays the saxophone and guitar with his Billy Joel cover band 52nd Street. They performed at the Terrie O'Connor Realtors Family Picnic this August, as well as throughout the summer at venues throughout New Jersey.

As the Executive Vice President for the Terrie O'Connor Real Estate Companies, Sarah Drennan oversees operations and drives growth and innovation for all eight branch offices. A licensed Real Estate Broker, she successfully managed the Allendale office, providing coaching, training and support to generate business growth for more than 50 sales professionals. A proven leader, Sarah began her career as International Resource Manager at one of the world’s largest public relations firms. She later became Vice President of Operations and founding partner of the first public relations industry trade association before entering a very successful career in real estate sales. Her vast experience in public relations, marketing, sales and customer service combined with her passion for real estate management make her an invaluable asset to the company, its more than 475 sales associates and our clients. Sarah has personally moved more than 20 times throughout the United States and internationally. Having bought and sold multiple homes at a profit, managed every aspect of her moves across the country and around the world and having navigated the corporate relocation process, Sarah has gained a unique perspective on real estate. She can empathize with her clients as they prepare to buy or sell their most important financial asset and relocate their families. Sarah currently serves as a Councilwoman for the Borough of Upper Saddle River. Additionally, Sarah serves on the Board of Directors for the Grace Foundation of Terrie O’Connor Realtors, and volunteers with Upper Saddle River Cares. An active member of her local real estate board, Greater Bergen Realtors, Sarah serves on multiple committees (Grievance, MLS, Tech) and is a Director for the New Jersey MLS Board. Sarah is formerly a member of the NJ Realtors Communications Committee. Sarah resides in Upper Saddle River with her three children, Isabella (21) and 19-year old twins Alexandria and Robert. Katy O'Connor Smiechowski became a licensed Realtor® in 1991 and has been actively involved in the growth of Terrie O'Connor Realtors (TOCR) since its inception. In her role, Katy oversees TOCR Professional Development and the Terrie O'Connor Realtors Real Estate School, which she and her team successfully opened in 2012. She works as a full time Real Estate Broker Salesperson, has managed multiple TOCR sales offices over the years and is an integral part of the company leadership team. Due to her dedication and top achievements in real estate, Katy has been awarded both Circle of Excellence & Million Dollar Club recognition numerous times through the years, and has been named one of Bergen County's Top Real Estate Agents in 2020 and 2021 by Bergen Magazine. Katy earned a Masters Degree from Columbia University Teachers College in Curriculum & Development and a B.A., from Rutgers College in both Elementary Education and Psychology. Katy was awarded the New Jersey Sally Mae First Class Teacher Award while she worked as an elementary school teacher in the Upper Saddle River public schools for seven years, where she taught kindergarten, third and fourth grade. Joe celebrates over 20 years with TOCR. Since 2001, he has photographed and marketed more than 15,000 homes in his position as Director of Photography. He is responsible for managing all property photography, virtual tours and drone photos. We provide Matterport and Zillow 3D Virtual Tours to provide buyers with an immersive virtual experience, Joe explains. It's important for our photos to stand out. Buyers begin their homesearch online, and better pictures encourage them to request a showing and make offers. In addition to his role in overseeing the photography, Joe is a top producing agent who has received the NJ Realtors Silver and Bronze Circle of Excellence awards multiple times, as well as the TOCR Million Dollar Club recognition. After attending St. Joseph's Regional High School, Joe earned his Bachelor Degrees in Economics and Sociology from Rutgers University. Mike joined Terrie O'Connor Realtors in 2012 to oversee the company’s technology and back office systems. In this role, Mike works closely with our Chief Operating Officer, Matthew T. O'Connor and our digital marketing team to identify and implement innovative technology and marketing solutions for the company, its agents and our clients. Mike studied Electrical Engineering at Vermont Technical College and is currently pursuing his degree.

As Business Development Manager, Jodi oversees the company's relocation business, managing both outgoing and incoming referrals through Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and cooperating brokerages. As an inside sales specialist, Jodi manages lead generation for the company and its agents. Jodi has been a full time real estate agent since 2013, obtaining her broker's license in 2018. Jodi has an extensive background in customer service, business management, architecture and construction. Most recently, Jodi was a Growth Manager for a local real estate franchise. Jodi's strong leadership and management skills have been an asset to her real estate career. For more than 20 years, Jodi, her husband and their two children have called Kinnelon home. In her spare time, Jodi has coached soccer, been a board member of the Kinnelon Soccer Club and has volunteered her time in the Kinnelon School system.
