Terrie O’Connor, Founder and Broker-Owner
Terrie is licensed in New York and New Jersey where she has helped thousands of businesses and families make their real estate dreams come true. She began her successful real estate career in 1981, working in both sales and management. Terrie worked extensively with corporate transferees as well as marketing residential properties and new construction. Since founding Terrie O’Connor Realtors in 1991, she has been joined by an impressive broker management team, an experienced staff and an ever-growing roster of talented and enthusiastic real estate professionals.
As both the daughter and then wife of U.S. Naval officers, Terrie has lived in such places as Malta, Hawaii, Panama and England as well as a dozen places in the continental United States, from the East Coast to the West. She is a long time resident of Bergen County, where she raised her four children.
Terrie is a past Chairman of the Board of the Builders Association of northern New Jersey and was the first woman President in 1994 and 1995. Her many volunteer activities and professional memberships demonstrate her deep commitment to her profession, her colleagues, her community and her family.
Matthew O’Connor, Chief Operating Officer
Matthew brings a diverse set of skills to the company. He grew up in the real estate industry and has been connected to the firm since its inception, attaining his N.J. Sales and Broker’s Licenses as well as a number of relocation designations. He also has a degree in Electrical Engineering and years of experience as a computer programmer and project manager in the software industry. With this dual experience, he has gained a great understanding of the inner workings of many different companies and industries and can relate these experiences to the real estate industry.
Matthew joined Terrie O’Connor Realtors full time in 2004. His skills in computer programming have been invaluable in building custom technology systems for the company…allowing us to provide our clients with state of the art systems. He has grown into the position of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all technology and websites, facilities, finance and relocation.
